This workshop is open to faculty and staff only.

The International Student Centre (ISC) offers various services to new and returning international students such as orientation, transitions programs, immigration and visa advising, mandatory health insurance administration and so much more. As numbers of international students who join our campus in various faculties and departments grow, it is important for faculty and staff to understand how the International Student Centre can help facilitate their student experience. This information session will give an opportunity to familiarize participants with the ISC services and related staff and in turn assist the international students.

Supporting and Enhancing Student Accessibility on Campus - Offering 1

This workshop is open to faculty and staff only.

The Ontario Human Rights Code guarantees the right to equal treatment in education, without discrimination on the ground of disability. Post-secondary institutions must ensure that students who require accommodations because of their disabilities are accommodated to the point of undue hardship. This session will provide an overview of services provided by Student Accessibility Services, applicable policies, and the key role faculty and staff play in collaborative problem-solving to identify potential accommodation solutions and enhance the student experience.

UWindsor has committed to dismantling anti-Black racism in signing the Scarborough Charter and committing to following through with implementing the Anti-Black Racism Taskforce Report Recommendations. Several recommendations manifest in the form of new Black Student Support Services being offered throughout UWindsor's campus. Join the Office of the Vice-President of Equity's Black Student Support Coordinator, the Clinical Therapist for Black Students, and others to learn about Black Student Support Services and initiatives on UWindsor's campus.

Recovery Allyship and Supporting Students Who Use Substances

This workshop is open to faculty and staff only.

Recovery Ally Training is designed to increase understanding of addiction, decrease stigma and bias associated with it, and to provide specific tools and language for effective allyship. During this session, facilitated by Lancers Recover staff, participants will use a recovery-informed lens to understand ways in which they can better support students who use substances or are in recovery from substance use.
