This session will provide an overview of the key principles for minute taking and templates/samples for use and reference. It will also outline what information to record during the meetings, how to successfully write concise summaries and take good notes.

Rules of order and procedures are the agreed-upon framework, established by an organization’s governing body and/or parliamentary procedure rule book such as Robert’s Rules of Order, that governs how committees are run and meetings are conducted to ensure a fair, equitable, efficient, and open decision-making process. This session will focus on rules of order and procedures for Senate committees, including committee composition, quorum, motions, voting, and member conduct and responsibilities.
