UTC Mentoring

University Teaching Certificate (UTC)

Mentoring Role

Once students have been registered in the UTC, they are assigned to a mentor who will be their primary point of contact while students complete the certificate. The mentor will help to guide students through the process to achieve the certificate. Regular meetings with the mentor occur to assess progress, identify areas of concern, reflect on what is being learned, and revise strategies as necessary.

I have mentored several students in the program who have gone on to complete the Fundamentals of University Teaching (FUT) certificate which has been quite a rewarding experience!

Mentoring is currently on hold due to my involvement supporting the campus during COVID-19.
