Do you want to record a lecture? Would you like to try using a new tool to record learning materials for your students? This session will introduce you to Blackboard Collaborate, Echo360, and other screen capturing tools. Participants will learn the possibilities for extending their capability beyond voice over PowerPoint, and what the potential benefits are for both students and faculty.

Do you want to record your regular lectures and/or stream them live online? Do you want to create extra recorded resources for your students? Will you be out of the city, but still want to have a live, interactive, online lesson? Are you looking for a way to do online office hours that has all the value of a face-to-face meeting? These are just some of the possibilities of Blackboard Collaborate. Blackboard Collaborate is a tool that can be added to any course site and is free to use for all faculty and students.
This is an interactive workshop where participants will actually go through the steps of setting up Blackboard Collaborate and try out its various features themselves. **Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop, if they have one. There will also be some available for anyone who does not have their own.

Labster- Virtual Lab Demonstration

Labster's award-winning high fidelity virtual labs will soon be available to pilot for University of Windsor courses. These labs have been shown to reduce time needed in traditional labs because students are better prepared, reduce equipment breakage and waste, and increase student learning, especially when paired with traditional labs. This workshop will introduce instructors to the possibilities provided by Labster virtual labs for UWindsor students, including the impressive and growing body of evidence about their effectiveness. Labster can enhance programs with a wide range of labs across disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, genetics, microbiology, ecology, anatomy, forensics, and even lab safety.
