The move to Hyflex teaching creates some unique challenges and new possibilities for student engagement. This session will include some initial thoughts on how we can make a hyflex environment engaging. Topics will include contextualizing content for students, balancing in class and online students and assigning different types of individual and group activities.
This online session will be 90 minutes long and will include a conceptual discussion of student engagement, pedagogical approaches to encourage engagement as well as feedback and discussion with participants. While the technical affordances of Hyflex will be discussed, this is not primarily a technical session.

Part of the class will be discussing hyflex principles and conditions at UWindsor and the other part will be a hands-on opportunity to test out the equipment.

You have committed to teaching in a hyflex environment, and you want to try the equipment out in advance and gain some tips to help make your class time work successfully. This session will be held onsite in a classroom that is equipped to offer this course delivery mode.

We will be trying to model what you can do in this space with a hyflex class design (both physically and virtually). You will be able to experience the live class and the online class (through the virtual chat). Please bring an electronic device with you to fully participate. Part of the class will be discussing hyflex principles and conditions at UWindsor and the other part will be a hands-on opportunity to test out the equipment.
