Are you looking for or considering applying for a grant to support a teaching and learning project? Many faculty find it difficult to write strong grant proposals, especially those dealing with pedagogy, as the writing style that made them successful as academics is not well-suited to crafting a successful teaching and learning grant proposal. Successful proposals feature clear, concise sentences with less jargon. They are energetic and get directly to the point, convincing the reviewers that the project is relevant to the aims of the funding organization’s call, and has good chance for success.
Established in 2013, the small but mighty Office of Open Learning Team has supported UWindsor faculty and their collaborators at other institutions to secure $5+ million in external grants for open educational resources, online course and program development, and research and innovation in technology-enabled teaching and learning. In these workshops, we share our approach to facilitating faculty and instructors in the collaborative grant writing process that has been very successful.
