Weighed in the Balance: Evaluating Teaching in Higher Education
At this forum hosted by Provost Douglas Kneale, university instructors, staff, and administrators will explore how teaching is documented and evaluated, here and elsewhere. The forum will be a collective opportunity to take stock of our experiences, our beliefs and doubts, the challenges we face, and some of the research in the field.
Our goals:
- to begin the process of identifying fair and effective evaluation practices that legitimately contribute to teaching improvement and to a more comprehensive, sophisticated understanding of teaching quality; and
- to explore how universities have successfully taken on the task of doing evaluation better.
The Forum is free for all members of the University of Windsor community.
Fee for external participants: $56.50 ($50 + 6.50 HST). Payment can be made by cheque, payable to "University of Windsor" and mailed to: Marilyn Powley, Centre for Teaching and Learning, University of Windsor, 401 Sunset Avenue, Windsor, Ontario, N9B 3P4. To pay by credit card, please email mpowley@uwindsor.ca and an invoice payable by credit card will be emailed to you.
Payment is due by Wednesday, November 11, 2015 to secure your place.
