Networking Opportunities

EDC Experience

The EDC Experience is for people who want an immersive, theme-focused conference experience, an opportunity to meet once per day with other conference-goers to discuss shared experiences in sessions that deal with a particular theme of interest, share ideas, set goals, and keep a conversation going from the first day of the conference to the last. You may even make some new friends along the way!

Each group is limited to eight members, will meet at scheduled times throughout the conference with a trained discussion facilitator. While participants will not be required to attend sessions related to their chosen theme, they will be asked to do so — and to attend actively by asking questions, making connections between themed sessions, and sharing resources related to their theme with one another. When time slots feature more than one session relevant to their theme, participants will be asked to attend one, and inform their group members about what happened at the other at their next meeting.

Themes
  • Educational leadership and change management
  • Curriculum development
  • Disciplinary diversity, cultural diversity, and internationalization
  • Supporting effective teaching and evaluation practices
  • Scholarly approaches to educational development
  • Collaboration and community in teaching and learning

Deadline
Registration for the EDC Experience will only be open until February 7th, 2016. You can choose to participate in any theme by visiting the Conference Registration page. All efforts to accommodate your primary choice will be made, though the small group sizes may in some cases lead us to assign you your second or third choices instead.

Networking Lunch

Thursday, February 18, 11:45am-1:15pm

To help facilitate topic-specific networking, conference participants are invited to identify topics of interest and post them, along with their names and organizations, on the numbered cards found at the Registration Desk (First Floor, SCCA) throughout the conference. Posting a card reserves a table at the networking lunch for that topic. Table reservation is on a first come first served basis.
