Bal Barot
Dr. Bal Barot is a chemistry professor at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, MI, USA since 1993. He earned his Master’s degree in 1982 from University of Georgia and doctorate in Organic Chemistry from Oklahoma State University in 1984. Dr. Barot, a Fulbright scholar, has taught chemistry to students ranging from undergraduate to doctorate level since 1984. He has published more than twenty papers and three books. He has been awarded NSF, NIH, DOE, and ACS grants. Dr. Barot has served as a reviewer for half dozen national and international journals and NSF grant proposals. In 2011, he was named the MSTA College Science Teacher of the year His experience with technology in teaching and learning began as a first faculty adaptor of the Blackboard platform at Lake Michigan College in the 1990s. Dr. Barot has used Whiteboard, 3D projectors, Clickers, Blogs, Computerized Assessment, Remote Data Collection technology for NMR and other multi-media technology to teach on-line and in classroom chemistry. Born in India, Bal enjoys watching both cricket and American football with equal passion.
