Judy Bornais
Judy Bornais is an Experiential Learning Specialist with the Faculty of Nursing and a Teaching Leadership Chair. She also holds an Adjunct Faculty appointment at Western with the Department of Surgery at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. Judy’s research focuses on teaching and learning pedagogy, including the use of standardized patients to improve students’ health assessment skills, the use of peer mentors and the use of simulation technology in nursing education. Judy has won numerous teaching awards including the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN) Excellence in Nursing Education for tenured faculty in 2013, the Council of Ontario Programs in Nursing (COUPN) 2013 Excellence in Teaching Award and she was also named one of Ontario’s most outstanding university teachers by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) receiving a 2011-2012 OCUFA Teaching Award.
