Daniel Cutler

Originally from England, Daniel completed his undergraduate studies in Chemistry at Cardiff University, Wales, UK graduating with an integrated Master’s degree. Moving to Scotland he completed a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh in 2022, after which he began post doctoral roles firstly in Japan and then at the University of Windsor and now as part of a collaboration between the University of Windsor and Universitat de Barcelona. During his graduate studies Dan worked as GA and lead GA in chemistry teaching labs. Teaching undergraduates at all levels (1st – 4th year) both through in person and online workshops and lab sessions. As a lead GA he contributed to the design of new teaching lab experiments aimed at providing catch up opportunities to pandemic affected students and allowed for social distancing requirements. Furthermore, while at Edinburgh Dan worked as a Public Engagement Scholar, delivering spectroscopy workshops in secondary schools, and then developing remote workshops used by teachers during and post pandemic. Since moving to Windsor he has mentored multiple graduate and undergraduate students through a research lab setting and has guest lectured in 1st year, 2nd year and 4th year chemistry courses.
