Lionel Walsh
Director of the School of Dramatic Art at the University of Windsor, Lionel teaches improvisation, acting, and character study. He is a specialist in Michael Chekhov Acting Technique and both a professional actor and director. He has taught workshops at conferences, festivals, and universities in Canada, Great Britain, and the United States. As a teacher, he is particularly interested in professional development and has attended workshops with the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, the Michael Chekhov Association, and The Teaching Professor Conference. He has taught Speech to Inform, Speech to Persuade, and Speech for Business and the Professions at Virginia Commonwealth University and in various workshops over the last 16 years. Lionel is one of this year’s recipients of the University of Windsor Alumni Award for Distinguished Contributions to University Teaching and a past winner of the University’s Excellence in Mentoring Award.
