Leading Effective Discussions introduces the basic skills involved in promoting, leading, and sustaining educationally effective discussions. Students will experience a variety of discussion-based active learning lessons, and will have an opportunity to facilitate a discussion, and receive feedback on their teaching from the instructors and other participants. By the end of this course, students will be in a better position to judge which methods they would like to use in their own classes, and how they can be adapted to suit personal teaching styles and disciplinary needs.

By successfully completing this course, participants will have made progress toward completion of the University Teaching Certificate (UTC) program.

Note: To participate in the UTC program, you must apply and receive a formal acceptance. For more information, please visit: http://www.uwindsor.ca/ctl/463/university-teaching-certificate.
