Julie Smit
Dr. Julie Smit has held positions as a Biology Instructor at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College, and a Senior Lab Instructor at the University of Northern British Columbia. Presently, she holds a joint position as a faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences, and a learning specialist in the Centre for Teaching and Learning at the University of Windsor.
Dr. Smit is well-versed in student affairs and experienced in the development and facilitation of learning-centred practices. She has attended a number of teaching and learning workshops on critical thinking in higher education, course design, teaching effectiveness, and learning outcomes. Dr. Smit is a graduate of York University, Downsview (BSc., Environmental Science); McGill University, Montreal (MSc., Plant Ecology); and the University of Victoria (PhD, Conifer Physiological Ecology).
