Though mobile devices and laptops are often viewed as a distraction for students during class time, they can also be used as a tool for engagement. Using student response systems, such as Mentimeter, can encourage participation, inspire discussion, capture student perspectives, and gauge student understanding of course content.

In this workshop, participants will:

• discuss engagement tools and when to use a student response system (SRS)
• identify best practices for using an SRS
• write effective questions in Mentimeter
• consider equity and disability in the use of an SRS

Note: A mobile device such as a phone, tablet or laptop computer will be required to participate in this workshop, and we encourage you to bring your own. Please advise the instructors (email agalka@uwindsor.ca) if you will be unable to bring one so that one can be made available for you.
Exercises will use Mentimeter.
