Tanya Noel
Tanya Noel, PhD, is a Science Teaching and Learning Specialist in the Department of Integrative Biology, teaching introductory and medical microbiology and providing academic advising. Previously, she was a faculty member at York University, and a bioinformatics scientist at Aventis Pasteur. Her research is on effective learning in science, and technology in support of teaching and learning. She received the 2008 University Wide Teaching Award (under 10 years) at York University, the 2014 and 2015 University of Windsor Science Society “Excellence in Instruction Award”, and the 2016 Roger Thibert Teaching Excellence Award in Science at the University of Windsor. She has co-authored an instructors’ guide for an introductory Biology textbook, and is active in organizations promoting professional development in science education, including the Canadian Society for Microbiologists Forum on Microbiology Education (CSM FOME), and oCUBE (Ontario Consortium of Undergraduate Biology Educators).
