Kerri Burchill
Kerri Burchill has served teaching and administrative roles in K-12 and higher education roles in Canada, the United States and the West Indies. A current doctoral student at Eastern Michigan University, Kerri’s research focuses on faculty development, specifically the developmental processes novice professors use to continually develop.
In addition to completing her dissertation, Kerri currently serves as an adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins University. During the 2013-2014 academic year, Kerri taught at Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan. She has been instrumental in Eastern Michigan University Faculty Development Centre’s creation of an innovative teaching and learning program and has offered multiple presentations to various settings.
Recently, Kerri was instrumental in Eastern Michigan University Faculty Development Centre’s award of the Women in Philanthropy $5,000 grant. Additionally, Kerri was an honoured recipient of the Alberta Centennial Medal in 2005 for her leadership, volunteerism and community contributions, as well as the PanCanadian Teacher’s Choice Award in 2001, which celebrates the significant roles Kerri plays in the lives of students.
Kerri is passionate about helping individuals and organizations make progress, captured by her personal mission, “I am a bridge.” She currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland with her partner of 20 years, and looks forward to moving back home to Calgary in 2015.
