They will learn how to create columns to manage and calculate grades. Participants will learn how to add color rules to the Grade Center to provide visual indicators to interpret information quickly. Participants will learn how to use the Needs Grading page to increase instructor efficiency. Finally, they will learn how to add and manage grades, including grading test and assignment submissions.
Please note: Participants must have either taken the Getting Started workshop, or have fully completed the Introduction to Blackboard online course, with evidence of quizzes completed prior to taking this workshop.

You have been using Blackboard for a while and are able to send announcements, upload files, set the site to be available, etc. This session, offered at an intermediate level, will target the top set of specific topics that you have identified by completing the customized Qualtrics survey for Faulty of Law, Departmental Support staff.
Beyond the basics, topics discussed could include:
- adaptive release,
- establishing groups,
- creating and using tests
- tracking and altering grades,
- effective content management in sites,
- course lifecycle management, i.e. copying sites, exporting or archiving material, or other topics as identified from the survey.

Windsor Law: Overview of Blackboard Synchronous & Assignments Options
The Assignments tool offers SafeAssign (plagiarism detection), and multiple means of providing feedback including inline grading, recorded feedback and the ability to associate a rubric to enhance the workflow and integrity of your assignment. The Assignments tool is the best way to collect student file uploads for all kinds of purposes in your online course. This session will explore both of these tools and offer short break-out discussions for you to discuss how they could apply to your course. Other assessment options will be discussed, time permitting.

Links will be provided for you to explore the topics more in-depth post-workshop. In addition, you will be experiencing using the virtual classroom and learning about a brief overview of the tool that allows for live/synchronous sessions with audio, video, screen share, interactive whiteboards, polling, and even breakout groups. The virtual classroom (called Blackboard Collaborate Ultra) could be used for teaching, office hours, students presentations, and more. Instructors have the option to record any session and both the virtual classroom and any recordings are available directly through the course site.
